A generic salt, AB, has a molar mass of 153 g/mol and a solubility of 2.40 g/L at 25 °C. What is the Ksp of this salt at 25 C?

1 Answer

  • 2.40 g / (153 g/mole) = 0.015686 mole ... 0.015686 mole / 1L 0.015686 M

    AB <==> A+ + B- .... concentration of A, [A+], equals concentration, [B-] = 0.015686 M

    Ksp = [A+][B-] = (0.015686)(0.015686) = 2.46 X 10^-4 << answer
