I had all four wisdom teeth extracted last Thursday… except for the first day or two, I have been brushing my teeth (gently), rinsing with salt water, and using an alcohol-free mouthwash, several times a day.
But my mouth still tastes like something crawled into my mouth, took a crap, then died.
I presume there is some dying tissue or something… is that normal?
What else can I do??

Yes, it is normal. It is the blood and the tissue from the area around the tooth beginning to die. This happens with everyone. Keep swishing and rinsing, it will be gone within a few days.

Bad taste in mouth after wisdom tooth extraction?

Continue with rinsing with salt water, try to distract yourself with other activities, the feeling will go away. Enjoy the moment as there isn’t a chance in your whole lifetime when you will extract 4 wisdom teeth again 😉

I had my 2 bottoms out on friday. They put packing in and then stitched me up. I’m told it’s the packing. Actually the taste just started going away some today.

You may also have a blood clot or a small piece of food trapped in the hole left by the removed tooth.

It is normal, i had the same thing. It’s horrible but it literally is ‘rotting’ food! Anything left over mixing with saliva and bacteria in your mouth. Afraid plenty of mouthwash is all i can suggest, until it heals properly!

It’s most likely blood and the stitches it will go away Ive had lots of dental surgeries and it always happens the dentist gave me a thing to shoot warm water in the holes to wash the food out of the holes I had to do that for a long time

I know that my mouth tasted funny for about a week. It should go away shortly and I have no idea what makes it like that.

That’s normal. Don’t drink a favorite drink cause favorite drink + blood = non-favorite drink.
Stick with it. You mouth is healing. I’d rinse with diluted H2O2. (hydrogen peroxide).
