I got this for my cat but not sure how I am going to get him to eat it. It's to big to just hide in his food because he will know it's something different and won't eat it and plus he eats SO slow! I am thinking if I crushed it up he wouldn't notice. Would this effect how it works???

Yes it can be crushed, in fact, it is recommended. It prevents the likelihood the pet will vomit, which is a common side effect. A Comfortis pill is not coated, it is a beef flavored tablet designed to be chewable. However, most dogs and cats can't stand the smell or taste. If your cat is a finicky eater, he may notice it in the food. The only thing you need to make sure is that your cat eats ALL of the food. If he is one to always leave a little bit because he sees the bottom of the bowl, then it may not be the best route for your cat. If you are not comfortable pilling him yourself, you can take him to your vet to have a technician pill him. They can even show you how. Always remember to give the Comfortis with a full belly. This prevents vomiting and the product will work better.
If giving a pill is too difficult for your cat, a topical is another option. Revolution works great for fleas, and it also treats/prevents heartworm, intestinal parasites, and ear mites. It is highly recommended especially for outdoor kitties. Other topicals include Frontline, Advantage, and other over the counter brands like Hartz and Adam's. The product you choose depends on where you live. If you live in the warm, southern states like Florida where I am, over the counter topicals just won't cut it. I'd say Revolution is the next best flea product next to Comfortis.

Most tablets are coated because they taste bad. Putting it in is food is a guarantee that he won't touch the food, and you will have wasted the money for the Comfortis. You need to give it to him orally - look up the various You Tube videos on how to pill a cat.

Call the vet about it! He/she has got to know!
