your orthodontist should have given you a lits of do's and dont's. If not ask for one at your next visit. I think chips are ok and like a few other answers here mentioned you might want to break them in small pieces. Popcorn is a no no tho. You want your time wearing braces to go as quickly and easily as possible so follow the rules and soon you will have a beutiful brace free smile! 😛 Good luck!

If you got your braces yesterday, that means that your teeth are hurting. If you bite onto a chip, your teeth will hurt. You should be eating soft foods like spaghetti, soup, mashed potatoes, etc. Wait at least one week before eating potato chips or mash them into really small pieces. After one week is up, you can eat potato chips.

My friend had braces and she ate any kind of chips, corn chips and cheese doodles. She could not eat sticky candy like sweedish fish or taffy.Hope this helps.

Absolutely. If you're a super careful person then you might want to break them into small pieces. However, if you're like me, I just eat them whole. It hasn't done any damage to my braces at all. Orthodontists just want you to take the safest way but honestly I eat carrots, potato chips, and even pop corn a lot and it hasn't done any damage to my braces at all.

yes its fine, when I had braces I just couldn't eat very hard things, like hard candy. Biting into the hard candy can make the metal pieces that are glued to your teeth come off.

Yes you can, but try to stick to thinner chips, such as Lay's original. Kettle-cooked chips are a bit harder and thicker, and they might cause broken brackets if you aren't careful enough.

yes but you might want to break it in half, but it does nothing to your braces.

yeah..you should avoid sticky candy like starburst, laffy taffy, caramel

yes, as long as you rinse after and make sure that you break them up into peices
