I just got invited to the Nick Hotel (a hotel/ waterpark) and of course right when I’m supposed to go is when I’m due for my period. I’m too young to wear tampons, and I don’t want to ruin my bathing suit or be embarrassed in front of all those people. I also don’t want to disappoint my friends by not going because I’m pretty sure they already made reservations and to tell them now would be just mean. Can I go swimming with a pad? Is it true your period stops while you’re in the water? Any other ways to not leak in the water you know of?
I guess that I’m not too young for tampons, I’m just not ready to start using them yet.

yes its true that the water pressure would keep it up when you’re in the water. when u come out of the water just make sure u dont drag too long, go to the toilet to change or just stay in the water while talking of whatever. dont worry, im a competitive swimmer and i’ve been doing this for like 5years now. nothing would happen.hope this helps 🙂 enjoy your time there

I know how you feel but honestly you really aren’t to young for a tampon, I started wearing a tampon 3 months after my first period, if you try one now then you wont have to worry every time you go swimming 🙂

Well, its alright to have a bath on your period isnt it! So your blood flow stops for about 30 minutes or so. I dont wear tampons either. If your friends have started their period they would understand that you couldnt go. and even if they hadnt they would understand, so you could try and tell them. but of course your period might come early or late, so you might be alright on the day. Or you could ask your mum or an older girl relative to get you some tampons, or discuss your problem with her. sorry if my answer is a bit off, but hope i helped anyway. Good luck! :)xxx

It is true, your period will stop for a while when you are swimming, but you will still damage your swim suit with a blood stain which can be totally more embarrassing! Then when you get out of the water, it usually comes right back. I would use a small panty liner in the inside of your swimsuit bottom…it should stick there and you won’t have a blood stain on your swimsuit! Best of luck to you! 🙂 ♥

Yes you can but its not sanitary for other people in a public pool cause the blood may run into the pool and NOBODY WANTS THAT..its better to use a mini pad or tampon, or refrain from the pool due to plain courtesy, a thinner pad will not be visable and bring alot of changes and an extra towel and bathing suit too just in case..
-
It depends on your flow or how heavy your period is. You could try getting a bathing/swimsuit that already has padding and I would get a dark coloured swimsuit just in case if I little bit of blood shows , because you won’t be able to see it. If you already have a swimsuit and it is light coloured then just take precaution.
Since you say you are young , your period probably isn’t that heavy. Have fun!

Im in the exact boat as you!!!
i think that it is quite unsanitary, but it is true that your body senses you are in water and will stop! but when you get out you will need to grab a towel, if youve just started your periods could b irregualr and you might not be on you perriod, and it will only be light, i would recommend pratcising and getting used to a tampon, if not then make sure you have a towel on hand when you get out of the pool
P.s get a wetsuit or a swimsuit with a skirt, then it would matter as much or be visble! xx
Goodluck, ive been meaning to ask a queation like this! xx

You don’t want to wear a pad while swimming.. It will get huge! And everyone will notice it. Your period doesn’t stop when you’re in the water.. So just wear a tampon..

honestly, you’re not to young for a tampon if you already have your period…. time to start….or at least for in the water… cuz if you were just swimming all day it would be one thing, but since youre going to a water park you will be walking around…. you will leak for sure with no pad or tampon.
