  • To find the current you need to find the total resistance of the circuit.

    I would first combine c and d to become 10 ohms

    Then combine that with b in parallel and you will get 5 ohms

    Then in series the 5 ohm and 5 ohm is 10 ohms for total resistance.

    Current is V/R

    9 / 10 = .9A

  • Rt = 5+10//(5+5) = 5+10//10 = 5+(10*10)/(10+10) = 10.0 ohm

    Ia = V/Rt = 9.0/10.0 = 0.90 A

    // means in parallel
