Draw an electrolytic cell in which Mn2+ is reduced to Mn and Sn is oxidized to Sn2+. (Assume standard conditions).?

I got the first part, which simply gives a picture and asks to label the anode and cathode. I don't understand the second and third parts:

Write an equation for the half-reaction occurring at each electrode.

and

What minimum voltage is necessary to drive the reaction?

  • Mn2+ + 2e- -----> Mn ( Reduction at the negative electrode : cathod )

    Sn -----> Sn2+ + 2e- ( Oxidation at the positive electrode : anode )

    I can't do any further because the lack of information.

  • 1.04 V
