• invisalign are just one type of orthodontic appliance. people go in with the notion that they will be less painful than full braces, as far a tooth movement pain they will be the same (ie when people talk about going in to have their braces adjusted and they hurt) However invisalign doesnt have the side effects of brackets rubbing against you lips like regular braces do. the only thing is that if your teeth are really crooked then invisalign might not work.... invisalign are for people that have teeth that arent too crooked. They work great in that circumstance. Best advice would be to visit an orthodontist and let them evaluate your teeth. Another key point about invisalign is that you must wear them alot.... the reason that invisalign fails for most people is that they wear them for a couple of hours them take them off....you need constant pressure on your teeth to make them move.. this is why full braces have better success

  I have and I absolutly love them! You can take them out as you please and put ten back in whenever, this can also be a negitive though because if you are not motivated you might not want to put them back in. I think invisalign makes it really easy to brush your teeth and keep them healthy and clean. Also unlike braces, since you can clean the full surface of your teeth there is no chance of stains on your teeth from having brackets. The only bad thing I can think of about invisalign is having to take them out in public can be kinda embarresing. Overall, I think invisalign is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.

  When i was a teenager my teeth were straight..just a few years later (23) they have become very crooked. I would love to try invisalign and just want some insight to how well they work and how expensive they are! Thanks!

• Since you've already had braces, I can't imagine your teeth are that jacked up. I'm doing Invisalign right now. On my 3rd week of a 7 month treatment plan. So, I'm not sure how well they work yet.

  I think they'd probably be perfect for you. They tend to only offer them to adults because it's up to the patient to see good results. You're supposed to wear them all day other than to eat and brush. They say 22 of 24 hours. You get 6 weeks worth of aligners, and change them every 2 weeks. Then, go back to your ortho and he checks your progress and gives you another 6 weeks. The first day you change your aligners, your teeth will be sore but nothing terrible. They feel really tight. I guess that means they're working. They quickly adjust. And you've had braces so you're probably used to pain.

  All that talk about the aligners staining may happen to other people. If you drink coffee, soda, fruit punch with them in, they'll probably stain. That's why they recommend only water with them in. And you have to take care of them. Brush them every day. Or soak them for a bit. The good thing is that even if they do stain, you only have them for 2 weeks and you're moving on to a fresh pair.

  I preferred them over braces because I could remove them if I had to. And nothing to get stuck in braces when you eat. You just get used to taking them out for meals. The bonus is that you snack less and might lose weight.

  One other thing, they're not completely invisible. People will probably notice them if they're up close talking to you. And, they may have these little bubbles on a couple teeth called attatchments for the ortho to help anchor certain teeth. But, you may not need those.

• I found out about invisilign after I got my braces on. I was feeling a bit bummed out until I got my braces off and had to wear my retainer. It is the most annoying thing ever...and I have a clear one! Taking it in and out all the time and cleaning it alot more than braces... much more of a nuisance than having braces in my opinion. Now if you are a very disciplined person and don't need them on for long I say go for it. Even if you are disciplined but you have to wear them for quite a while you will probably go crazy. I have heard they take longer than braces too. Best thing is to look at the time, convenience, cost and looks of invisalign and decide from there.

No one can see that they are wearing braces, and the trays are comfortable and easy to use. Also, you can use whitening gel in the trays and whiten your teeth while you straighten them.
