How long does it take a Labradoodle pup to get big?

My neighbor gave me one (he bought it and quickly found it was too active for him). He is 13 weeks old now. I really like big dogs, and I was just curious as to when he will be big. I haven’t had a puppy ever since i’ve always adopted adults. Do they get big pretty fast?? (the vet said he should get around 65 pounds or so)

Yep, I mean a mutt! I hate that stupid labradoodle name anyway, I always tell people when they ask that he’s a mutt.

  • Around six months or so, maybe a little longer. My friend has one….she is HUGE! She walks around with like six socks in her mouth…haha. Her mom got her because she owned a store and wanted a store dog that wouldnt bother people with allergies, so I guess Labradoodles have a positive aspect here. I do agree with the other mixes, though. They really dont serve much of a point, espically the ones that are just bred to be smaller and smaller to fit into handbags and such.

Have fun with your puppy! Mutt, or not, they are great dogs!

  • Labradoodles are great dogs. We have 3 of them. They are smart, don’t shed, are active and healthy. They weigh about 60-80lbs full grown. They grow for about a year.

  • Its a mutt and not a breed… the people who originally bred this cross have abandoned it as it is in no way capable of producing a standard (ie: they don’t breed true). All of which essentially means… who knows?

Generally speaking large breed dogs weigh roughly double at adulthood what they do at 4 months (16 weeks).

What size it will be is dependent on the parents and their genetic background… so.. anywhere between a huge lab and whatever size poodle is a good guess.

  • They usually stop growing around 10 months or so. I would say he should get pretty big by 6 months.

  • Being a mutt, its anyone’s guess. He should fully physically mature anywhere from 16-24 months.

  • By about 10 months he’ll be almost full grown…By 18 months he will fill out to his adult size (chest will drop, bones will fill in)…I would estimate that with really quality food and plenty of excercise, he’ll be a bit larger than the vets estimate and top out at about 75-80 pounds.. 🙂

  • You mean a MUTT? Wait until he’s at least 6 months or so… he’ll get there.
