PS If you know the tile you what look their website up most often specs are given for a particular tile or the place of purchase has that info handy

It depends on the tile and how thick it is.

The thickness is given in 32nds of an inch, 8/32 is 1/4" (usually wall tile) amd 10/32 is 5/16 (usually floor tile)
