Okay, so I really want to change my Tumblr url, but it seems that every single one I try is taken by some inactive blog. It's really starting to piss me off, too. Because, honestly, if they knew they weren't going to be using the url in the future, then why did they bother signing up for Tumblr?
Anyway though, is there anything I can do about this? Ask the staff to delete the blog, etc.?

The only chance you have is to send an email to tumblr
Try to be as extensive as you can when explaining why you will deserve that url.

it's still their blog : i've heard people have sent messages to tumblr support before, but i'm not sure there's anything they can do about it either. until then, try maybe adding dashes in the url or changing around the words a bit. i hope you find something! 🙂

nope. unfortunately there is no way to take a url from an inactive blog. Which sucks because EVERYONE seems to have this problem.
