I just started year 10 at school and before now, i never really hated school and found that there were more upsides to downsides. However, this year i hate all of my classes and the stress and depression from school has given me abdominal pain as well as headaches that last over 42 hours. as well as random outburts of crying when not at school.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do? I feel like moving schools is too extreme considering this is my 11th year at my school and i love all of my friends there.
heelllpp before this gets any worse =*(

I'm not being bullied or harrased by anyone at my school. I'm very short, about 4"8 or something and that has caused depression in the past, but i dont believe it is related to school.
My mother is aware of the situation too. One of my best friends hates school and has gone through depression and anxiety because of this. I know how hard it was for her and don't want to go through that aswell.

talk to a counselor that is aware of your situation and try to work out your schedule..maybe there is a particular teacher that you may like better than you current one? pressure is alot...but you just have to be positive...look in the mirror and tell yourself "yes i can do this...i am a smart girl and i am not going to be defeated"...half of the time these things happen, in my opinon, is because you just keep it in whenever you have stress and you just supress it until you can't take it anymore. that's not healthy..and that's probably what causes those sudden outbursts of crying. cry when you WANT to cry...cry when you are stressed...rest when you've been stressed and pushed to the edge...even if you dont' fall asleep..listen to some peaceful music and just close your eyes and let your mind go blank...the more that you express your feelings and stress the less likely you will have it bottled it in and be more damaged because of those supression later on. it's normal to feel vulnerable when you face alot of expectations from parents, competition between fellow classmates, and ᴘᴇᴇr pressure. but remember..high school isn't the rest of your life..it's only FOUR YEARS out of the 80 or 90 years of your life. yes it is important, yes it will affect and shape your future, and yes it is stressful. but you need to learn not to loose yourself in the midst of everything. if you are spiritual...seek spiritual guidance..if you are not...maybe you could find a religion that you can depend on...and you and your best friend should talk about this rather than let it be hidden...ur friend knows what it was like..so im sure she has some things that can help you...keep yourself involved around people, liek club activities. studying is important...but socializing is necessary too. the key is to know how much is enough and not to do anything excessively. if the medical conditions continue..seek medical advice. and you are already a junior...just hang in there. remember..if you have those sudden depression...go and talk to someone rather than hide and be more negative and more depressed. our emotions are always changing because of the things we think about..so it is important that you talk to someone and think positively. and lastly..stop worrying so much. you are going to have sooo many other focus and goals in life that you will realize high school is just a phase. gluck and STAY POSITIVE (:

I can see that you really do hate school, and I can understand to a degree, its tough, the teachers aren't often very sympathetic, they can be boring, the subs are often useless, and if you don't have an interest, you don't have an interest. Despite this, and everything, I still think you should stay in school, even if you hate every second of it, you should continue in it, then as you continue through you can discover your passions and talents, and go into things that interest you, there is a point where it will be much harder, but also that much more intriguing. And besides that, the point is, there's nothing wrong with service workers, they are good people just like the rest of us, but the fact of the matter is, that they often, because of their income, can't live very comfortable lives, and if you drop out of school, then you will also most likely end up in a low paying job. Because of this, i'd just perservere, make sure to pay attention, so that you do well, if you attend but learn nothing, then thats just about as useless. You meantioned that you enjoyed learning abotu those diseases, mayeb it's simply that you have an interest in medicine? In that case, take your Bios and Chems, and do well, then you could become a doctor and enjoy what you do 🙂

Talk to your guidance counselor about your problems. This is what they are there for. If you can't talk to a guidance counselor, perhaps your parents will make you an appointment (ask them), for a theʀᴀᴘιsт that you can talk to. You need someone that you can discuss (in more detail) what is going on at school and in your classes that is making you so depressed. The depression and stress can cause your physical symptoms (headaches and abdominal pain). There may be some way of working this all out so that you won't be so stressed all the time, or worst case scenario, if you have to move schools, you can still have some friends over to visit after school and on weekends. But, I would definitely sit down and talk to a counselor about the problems, and have your mom and/or dad come to one or more of the sessions and talk to the counselor too and figure out what will be best to help you.

well you gotta be aware of what is it that's causing all this nuisance...you know what?...i don't know if you're in the same situation or not but it happened to me too...because my reason was that although i loved my friends and everything, i had got a lot into watching tv and doing fun-loving stuff which took my interest away from studies...whenever i would sit to study, i would feel angry and frustrated and because of this i never studied and naturally my grades were horrible and i hated school all the more...then my mom became strict with me and stopped me from watching tv and cut out all the entertainment sources and then i was brought back to real life and soon began concentrating on my studies...once my rades improved, i really enjoyed school again...i know its too much of a history but if you are in the same situation, you'll know what to do...but if you are not in this situation, then i suggest you see a counselor or something...
all the best!

I hate school too, somehow you have to get through it. If you think its tough then you will be thankful in the future. A tough highschool leads to a well prepared college student. I am in highschool right now at a college prep school, to say the least it is hard. I hope you get though, but remember you can get through it!
ps. To get through your problems, you must do something that you like to do. It will help cheer you up, for a little time.

I'm sorry that you feel this way.
Can you talk this over with someone? Like your parents or the counselor at school? Just someone that you trust. Tell them how you are feeling and what you think about moving schools.
The point is not to keep your feelings to yourself till you explode. You have to make your thoughts known to people. Tell someone everything that you have said here and do not leave anything out.
I hope everything works out and that you do not have to move schools anymore.
Best of luck to you!:)

I recommend talking to a counselor about ways to deal with your stress. If other students are harassing you, a teacher should step in and help stop them. I agree that you need help. Talk to a parent, a teacher, a counselor, someone... High School is important, but it should not be affecting your health that way.

Definately talk to a counselor at school. Maybe get a tutor if you feel its too hard. Is there someoen at school that is bothering you or is it specifically the classes (think about taht too)

What are the specific things you hate about school? Think about it write them down and talk to your parents first. Don't quit though as bad as you hate school anything is better then quitting. You might want to think abour homeschooling.
