  • All of the other responses so far assumed that you mean French Francs. There are many other countries that use or have used Francs as a currency unit (Switzerland, Rwanda, Burundi, Central and West African States to name a few), and each currency has a different exchange rate.

In addition, if you have a single old French 1000 Franc note: France hasn’t issued a 1000 Franc note since the late 1950s. and those haven’t been redeemable for several years. It does, however, have some value as a collectible.

Once you figure out what country your note is from, then you can go to the web site linked below and find an approximate value:

A currency exchange will pay 80-90% of that figure unless it is a more obscure currency, in which case you will do better selling it as a collectible.

Next time, include more details in your question. You really didn’t give enough information here to get an accurate answer.

  • It would be 985.22200 million U.S. dollars. But i think you wont get much out of it now. Because france use EURO now. It’s this new currency many of the countries in the European union use. Whatever time you come from it would have been much better to spend it in that time.

  • Take it to a Collector( More than One). It may be worth Much More to a Collector than at the Bank which is where you can Exchange it for American Money. I would Go to a Collector First!

  • Not much, since France uses the Euro now.

  • Nothing since since the france uses euros now but if those were euros you would have $1315.79

  • not much since france uses euro now so i guess like maybe $100

  • You could put it on Ebay, and maybe somebody will bid more than .99 cents (cause that’s whats it worth) as a souvenir.

  • about $50 lol:) its £100 so yer about $50-70 🙂 x

  • Could you elaborate?
