I want to become a dentist and I was wondering about some things:
-
What do you have to be good at in school in order to become one?
-
How long do you have to study to become one?
-
What subjects you suggest to take in university?
-
I'm very good in math. If I don't become a pedidontist, what do suggest me to be?
Thank you! ^.^ ♥
I am also wondering how much do you get paid and what universities should I go to for this job? I'm sorry if this is too much, but thanks again! 🙂 ♪♫

The word is PERIODONTIST. When I looked at what you wrote, Pedi~dontist", I wondered what "feet" and "Dental care" had to do with each other.

first and foremost i do believe u need to become a DDS (doctor of dental surgery aka regular family dentist) before u can proceed to any sort of specialty, such as pediodontist, or for example endodontist etc... depending where u live, will dictate how long your courses will be (due to laws etc in ur area). i would predict 8 - 10 years of university. i would suggest u study all of the science and math courses available to you... and as for response to question 4.. accountant. but make that a last resort... dentistry is very rewarding, and even tho i am myself only a dental assistant, i wish often i could have/would have taken time to become a full DDS.. and quite possibly specialize in childrens dentistry best of luck to u!

Assuming you are in the USA:
You will need 4 years of undergrad before applying to dental school. Dental school is an additional 4 years. If you go through your pedo rotation and decide you enjoy it, you can apply to pedo residencies and if you get accepted it is another 2 years.
Average salary for a pedodontist is around $150,000/yr
You will need to be good at biology and chemistry. In order to apply to dental school you will need at minimum 2 semesters chemistry, 2 semesters biology, 2 semesters organic chemistry, and 2 semesters physics. calculus and biochemistry are also recommended as well as physiology, microbiology and anatomy
