Interphase has G1, S, and G2.
The cell only goes through S (copying the DNA in the Synthesis stage) and G2 (making more cytoplasm and organelles to grow big enough for division) if the cell is going to divide. The neurons don't divide. If you damage neurons you don't get any more of them.

Yes. All neurons (nerve cells) in your brain remain in G1 interphase, and usually they will not divide again. By contrast, every second, 2 or 3 million precursors of red blood cells form to replace worn-out ones circulating in your body.
