To me, it is an oxymoron. Halal veal.
In the ahadith there are strict guidelines about how to treat animals and I am pretty sure locking them in a cage so they cannot walk so they will be nice and tender is not one of them.
I hope they don't do that. I haven't found halal meat all that tender so maybe they run around all day ! I think there's an age minimum and you can't kill a little little baby.
Veal is the meat of calves (young cattle). Though veal can be produced from any calf, most veal comes from male calves of dairy cattle breeds. Compared to other meats, veal has a delicate taste and tender texture.
A friend of mine did a hospitality course about 9 years ago and we discussed veal with one of the teachers. She said that veal is a calf (not still born) and in order to keep its meat tender, it is never allowed to develop its muscles so it is kept in a cage or tied up so its legs never touch the ground. This type of veal is very very expensive and only expensive restaurants sell it. Those restaurants would not be halal for us anyway. The veal you see at your local butcher is nothing more than cuts of beef that has been bashed and tenderised beyond recognition lol The colour is a dead give away. Proper veal is not red like beef. And that's what she told us. She is a qualified chef and owned a restaurant or two in her time.
Allah knows best!
veal is very much Halal, none Except Allah Allmighty has the authority
to make halal/haram.
Sis, don't complicate this deen for ur self. Not everything comes packed with logic.
