# Radians as multiples of pi?

i need help with this question convert 80 degrees to radians and express as multple of pi i think 80 degrees is 1.3964 radians but then wat

• Don’t use your calculator. Multiply degrees by pi/180 to convert to radians, so

80 degrees = 80pi/180 radians, now just reduce the fraction to lowest terms.

• Eww no don’t do that. Usually we don’t look at radians in decimals, but fractions.

80 degrees = 80pi/180 = 4pi/9 Radians

• pi radians is 180 degrees.

80 degrees is (80/180)(pi) = (4/9)(pi)

• to convert degrees to radians:

degree amount / 180

so

(80 / 180) * PI = 4 PI / 9 <– in terms of PI
