  • 1. The back row must stay fully bound (technically all of the arm but most refs allow just up to the elbow) whilst the ball is still in the scrum. If the ball is at the No. 8's feet and he loses the binding then the ball is out of the scrum.

    2. International Rugby Board (IRB), based in Dublin.

    3. Attackers knock-on between the 5m line and the defenders dead ball line. Resulting scrum is awarded, to the defenders, 5m from the try line.

    4. The receiving team will have the choice of allowing the kicking team to retake the kick, or they can have the put-in to a scrum in the centre of the pitch.

    5. The team is allowed to continue play if a free kick (or penalty or mark) is given. This ensures the game won't end due to foul play or otherwise, and the game only ends when the ball goes dead wholly 'legally'.

  • I am going to stick my neck out and answer these without referencing the law book (no rules in rugby only laws) 😉

1.What are the rules that govern the binding of the back row at the scrum

ANSWER: The back row must stay bound fully until the ball is out of the scrum

2.What is the organization in charge of word rugby and where is it based.

ANSWER: International Rugby Board (IRB) Dublin

3.Give an example why the defending team might be awarded a 5meter scrum from there own line.

ANSWER: Ball held up in the tackle short of the line. 5M scrum defending ball.

4.If a ball is kicked directly out into touch from a restart what choices does the team receiving the ball have

ANSWER: None, it is a scrum in the middle of the park.

5.At the end of 80 minutes (including added time) as time expires a free kick is awarded - what s the referees decision , and why, Explain this law.

ANSWER: The team awarded the kick is allowed to tke it. The reasoning being that no team is allowed to benefit from foul play. If the attacking team needed a single point to score, then the defending team could deliberately foul and if the ref was to blow up, they would have gined an advantage by cheating. Laws of all sports state that no advantage must be gained by breaking the laws of the game.

Please don't take this as fact, I am going from my experience and understanding of the laws as a coach and player

Aussie rules is unique and different to any other sport, american football is the same boring old thing. Rugby and Aussie rules kick pillow fight yankballs ****, rugby and footy are free flowing and don't stop every 2 minutes just for ads, American is boring, have you ever watched a game of rugby or Aussie footy? Obviously not, most Americans love aussie rules footy, why would you try to make fun of Aussie footy fans in the Aussie footy section. Stupid ignorant American , america is not the only country in the world. Aussie rules is superior, watch it, you will see. Aussie rules is 150 years old rugby is 100 american football is only 43 older the better. Manly4lyf for once I agree with u mate, its funny how rugby fans and footy fans hate each other but when it comes to yanks picking on our aussie football we bond together. lol fatal injuries??? pleeeeeeease, i watched 10 minutes (i got bored) of the superbowl 43 coz ben graham who used to play AFL was in it for the cardinals and there wasn't any injuries and big hits or anything likely to cause an injury, seriously no injuries, they are still too scared even with padding on. Pusss!es!!!!!!!! The tests you were talkin about were done by Americans, I wonder why American football won, duh!!!

  • Irb Laws Test

  • I would say they are equal tough. Aussie rules players don't wear any protection at all so some would say they are tougher. American football and rugby players both are covered up in pads and protection but they are pretty rough.
