What are the units for volume and/or mass?

  • Generally the units for volume are length cubed. In SI units volume has units of meters cubed (m³). Likewise volume can also be measured in feet cubed (ft³), centimeters cubed (cm³), or inches cubed (in³). There are also direct units for volume such as liters (L) and gallons.

    In SI units mass has units of kilograms (kg) and in US Customary units mass is measured in slugs or pound-mass (lbm).
