What does AccuWash sensor mean on a washing machine?

On our Whirlpool washing machine, on the right side of the water temperature options, it says AccuWash sensor. What does that mean, and is it better to use the AccuWash sensor option?

  • With this type of sensor the water temperature is more accurate to a specific temp. It will aim for (example) 135 for warm instead of simply adding equal amount of cold and hot tap. The pro reason behind this is tap water comes out at various temperatures depending on seasons and locality. Cold tap in the winter is going to be ALOT colder than cold tap in the summer. Even by 20 degrees or more. This provides more accuracy so you always know your detergent is going to dissolve.
