  • A ping is just a measurement of how long it takes for you’re computer and the server to communicate. It is almost always measured it milliseconds. So a ping of 50 would mean it would take 50 ms for your computer to send data to their server.

  • Ping Means To know how long it takes to send a Data and Receive the Data in Internet…To check whether the site working or not,You can do the Ping Test in here http://www.whoisxy.com/ping.aspx

  • Ping is a computer network administration utility used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an Internet Protocol (IP) network and to measure the round-trip time for packets sent from the local host to a destination computer, including the local host’s own interfaces.

  • Think of ping in terms of the sound of sonar in the old World War II movies: It’s a measure of how long it takes for a simple message to reach its target and bounce back. The lower the number, the better.

    Hope that helps.

Also hope you’ve seen at least one WWII submarine movie.

  • the ping is the time it takes for a network packet to leave your computer, reach another computer and come back to yours. the lower the ping, the faster your connection. the typical measurement of a ping is in milliseconds

  • A faster connection would result in a lower ping, yes. It might improve a little bit, but the main improvement a better pc would have is much better and faster graphics.

  • I believe it is how fast it takes for your computer to connect with the server or program you are using.

  • it is how long it takes for a packet of data to get to where you are sending it and back
