  • It means you share the bathroom with other guests of the hotel. Your room doesnt have its own bathroom.

Not to sound snobby, but the thought makes me sick. Staying in a city like New york with god knows who in your hotel using the same bathroom and showers. Disgusting.

Stay in a hotel out near Newark Airport if money is tight. You can stay in a 3 or 4 star hotel for cheap.

I've stayed in shared bathroom hotels many times and it's rarely a problem. I mean, OK, you may have to wait a few minutes to take your shower if someone's already in there, and, when you follow some other person into the shared bathroom, it won't be "sparkling" clean, so, if you're, like, some kind of OCD neat-freak forget it, but, considering the cost of hotel rooms in New York City today, if you get a GREAT deal on a room with a shared bath, go for it, because any minor inconvenience you experience will be well worth the savings, and besides, you'll come away with some great stories to tell when you get back home, too! 😉 Good luck!... ☺

  • Shared bathrooms mean that you and another will share (sometimes more than one) will share a bathroom. Which will mean you will not have access to it 100% of the time. Best to look for another place unless you like to wait to go to the bathroom or take a shower. Also remember you may share with someone that is messy.

  • Did in London and Amsterdam, wasn't a problem. May want to shower the night before. The rooms probably have sinks to freshen up in the morning.

  • it means you wont have your own private bathroom.you will share a central bathroom with people from other rooms.

  • It means that the bath is down the hall. Bring your own towel and soap.

  • It means that in your room, you dont have your own bathroom (or shower) and that everyone on the floor sheres it

  • it's not just your room that uses it. Almost dorm style. You may only have to share with one other room, or you may have to share with the whole floor.
