What is the meaning of “shall remain in effect through”. I am reading this company order that states generally………. This Order shall remain in effect through June 30, 2011, unless amended, modified, terminated, or rescinded prior to that date………..
Does this mean the order stops on June 30, 2011 or does it mean that it will continue through that date into an undetermined future until it will be amended. I think it is the former.

Thanks guys that is exactly what I thought. I just wanted to make sure that it was correct before I discussed it with some one. Thanks for all of the help.

The word “through” (in this case) means “for the entire day of June 30”. It (whatever the order is) ends at midnight of July 1, 2011.

You are correct. It will remain in affect up until June 30.

It is planned that the order will end on the begining of July 1, but things could change.
