  • I loved to play ball, and for the first time in my life, I’m actually useful, at a ballgame, instead of just a big stationary person, that maybe if the ball comes within this range, I might get it. I was wearing-I’d always wore XX kind of jersey. And then I went down to medium. And then the medium was too big, that it’s coming down here.

So I’m wearing a rockin’ outfit, and I’m making a play, and the guy stops, beans it in the face ’cause he says, “Look at your body. You’re rockin’ hard.” And that was the first time I had ever gotten a compliment like that in my whole life.

  • Cricket balls are made from a core of cork, which is layered with tightly wound string, and covered by a leather case with a slightly raised sewn seam. The covering is constructed of four pieces of leather shaped similar to the peel of a quartered orange, but one hemisphere is rotated by 90 degrees with respect to the other. The “equator” of the ball is stitched with string to form the seam, with a total of six rows of stitches. The remaining two joins between the leather pieces are left unstitched.

For men’s cricket, the ball must weigh between 5.5 and 5.75 ounces (155.9 and 163.0 g) and measure between 8 13/16 and 9 in (224 and 229 mm) in circumference. Balls used in women’s and youth matches are slightly smaller.

Cricket balls are traditionally dyed red, and red balls are used in Test cricket and First-class cricket. White balls were introduced when one-day matches began being played at night under floodlights, as they are more visible at night. Professional one-day matches are now played with white balls, even when they are not played at night. Other colours have occasionally been experimented with, such as yellow and orange for improved night visibility, but the colouring process has so far rendered such balls unsuitable for professional play because they wear differently to standard balls. The white ball has been found to swing a lot more during the first half of the innings than the red ball. It also deteriorates faster than the red ball.

They’re made of cork wound in string, and covered by leather. (in case you wanted to know).

  • Since losing my weight, I have more confidence. I am more physically active, and I’m not afraid to take on physical challenges. For example, I have run 10Ks, learned how to snow-ski, and recently participated in a mud run. Losing the weight has also given me the strength to do something I never thought I would be qualified for, and that is teach a self-esteem class for a nonprofit organization.

The best ever team to ever play cricket.,.it has to be the Australian team which won 3 world cups in a row in both tests & ODIs.They just dominated the world cricket, domination seemed to be the most integral part of the Aussies. It was considered extremely tough for any country to defeat Australia those days.,I.e,in the last decade. They never lost a world cup match in both 2003 & 2007 world cup, which just indicates how powerful they were. Many of the players part of the Australian teams include the likes of Adam Gilchrist,Ricky Ponting,Glenn McGrath,Brett Lee,Matthew Hayden,Shane Warne,Andrew Symonds, etc. But their domination is over now. They r no longer the team they were.Although they r still one of the tough teams to play with in the world, they can be beatable.India has had 2 big victories against Australia in major matches which won them the world cup-in quarter finals of 2011 world cup which would not only be India’s most memorable victory against Australia to date but also a victory which ended the Aussie reign as world champions for 12 years, indication of end of an era.The other was the defeat in the semi-finals of T20 WC 2007 which surely was something the Aussies wouldn’t have liked. BQ- For an Indian team,I would go with the same team which played the 2007 world cup when it comes to tests.Because with players like Dravid,Sachin,Ganguly,Laxman,Sehwag,Kumb… of the best players India has ever had in test cricket.Later on it was almost this same team which went on to be the #1 ranked side in tests. And speaking about ODIs obviously it has to be our present team which won us the world cup. Pakistan-the team in the 90s which had the man Imran Khan leading from the front, youngsters like wasim akram rising to top & other key players like Javed Mianad, the team which won the only ODI world cup for Pakistan South Africa-in tests, definitely it has to be the present team which is ranked on top.And in ODIs I would say the team of 2007-09 where RSA made to the semi-finals of 2007 world cup, later on they won a series at home against Aussies 3-2 chasing 435 in 50 overs, what happened that day was outstanding.
