i'm writing a story and in this part the villain is carrying the heroine. he "picked her up bridal style" but she is unconscious and afraid of him when she is conscious so "bridal style" sounds stupid.

what is another way i can call this style of carrying?
or if there is no other way to call it, how would i describe it without saying "bridal style'?

Just say he picked her up and carried her. If she's unconcious, how else would he carry her. Let the readers use their imagination a little.
