  • Why not blankets and have some chairs for guests who really can't sit on the ground. Inform your guests that it's casual dress and what the seating situation is beforehand. It's your wedding and I think it's a cute idea! Besides, who remembers weddings that are always the same set up with the same boring white chairs. Be unique and have fun!

  • Go to stores like Goodwill and pick up a bunch bedspreads for super cheap. They make great picnic blankets! Plus, they don't cost as much to purchase. You can find some super cute bedspreads at Goodwill. You can mix and match your style. Second hand stores are also a great place to find blankets too. You don't want to spend much money on blankets. They aren't so cheap. Now, if you really want to be creative, why not have your family members bring their own blanket to the wedding? Or you could collect blankets from them to borrow? Just a thought!

the was a Picnic Wedding featured in "Real Simple Weddings" - you might check it out and see if they had some ideas for you & also if they gave costs. One of the things they did was give all the guests blankets to sit on - do you have tables or adequate seating for everyone? I think the chicken is good and the rollups sound good too - maybe some of those mini-quiche things & a chip & dip

  • Please re-think this. I'm in my mid-50's and would never sit on a blanket on the ground. I would never be able to get up without help. And I don't have any health problems. Just not as flexible as I used to be. Think about your older guests and anyone that might have mobility problems. Your guests should be able to sit on chairs, not on the ground. Maybe consider providing some picnic tables.

  • I can understand having a "picnic wedding" (i.e., picnic food -- even in picnic baskets if you want!), but PLEASE do not have your guests sitting on the ground on blankets! That is totally uncomfortable and hard to do! What if I come to your wedding in a dress...how am I supposed to sit lady-like and comfortably on the ground?

Get some tables and chairs (rent them if you need to) or look for a place that has picnic tables. Cover them in gingham fabric tablecloths and serve your picnic lunch/dinner. A very easy solution!

  • The harbour-side town of Auckland is New Zealand's true town and the vibrant financial heart of the country, know it with hotelbye . Auckland can also be known as the "City of Sails" and it sprawls out in helter-skelter style between Manukau Harbour (to the west) and Waitemata Harbour (to the east) with the small central city region proper beside the waterway. For some guests to New Zealand, Auckland is the point of arrival, and a couple of days soaking up the ethnic and outdoor attractions here must be on every tourist's to-do list. The monuments, museums, and art galleries listed below are a number of the best in the country. The suburban coastline of the city is speckled with fine beaches, and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf give a style of New Zealand's magnificent national park landscape close to the city's doorstep. Auckland is surely a city worth seeing.

  • Why not just use tables with chairs with a picnic blanket-like tablecloth with a picnic basket on it? It would be much more comfortable for the older guests, and women with high heels and dresses...
