Where can I find translation of “El cisne” by Ruben Dario? or does anyone can translate for me?

  • wow....there's no way that i can possibly do justice to such a wonderful poem, but here's my attempt:

It was in a divine hour for mankind.

the swan previously sang only to die.

When the people heard the sound of the Wagnerian Swan

it was in the middle of an aurora, it was in order to revive.

In the tempests of the human ocean

they heard the song of the Swan; they didn't cease to hear,

controlling the hammer of the old German Thor

or the trumpets that sing the sword of Argantir (a legendary warrior from Iceland)

oh Swan! Oh sacred bird! if before

    white Helena

of the blue egg of Leda (Helena's mother) sprouted full of grace,

being of the beauty of the immortal princess,

under your white wings the new Poetry

is conceived in a blaze of light and of harmony

the eternal and pure Helena who embodies the ideal.
