Where did skidamarinkadinkadink come from?

  • it was the final number to a 1910 musical called "the Echo" on broadway... the song and the musical were repopularized by jimmy durante in the 1950's and then again in the 1980 on the australian kid's shows bananas in pajamas and the elephant show...

  • Ok - this is just a guess. I'm going to say, Jimmy Durante. You know the guy with the big nose (I'm sure he would have used the word "Snozz") in the thirties who sang the song Inka Dinka Doo and said, "Goodnight, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are!"

  1. Durante sang “Inka Dinka Do,” which is a different but similar song. The Wiki link is a better source.
