Which part of the coordinate plane is equidistant from the points

Hi, I have one question. I don't understand it at all- " Which part of the coordinate plane is equidistant from the points A(-3,2) and B(3,2)? Explain... I thought it would be along the X- Axis but im not sure.. Thanks.

  • Not the x-axis

    The point (0, 2) is the midpoint.

    The every point on the perpendicular line through the midpoint is equidistant from the two points.

    It's the y -axis <-----

  • The formula for finding the mid-point of a line is

    X = (x1 + x2)/2, Y = (y1 = y2)/2

    X = (-3 + 3)/2 = 0

    Y = (2 + 2)/2 = 2

    the ordered pairs are (0,2)
