why does the lawn mower live such a hard life?

  • Well, it's ꜱᴜcκing dirt up and into the air filter........which is hopefully cleaned after every use. It smashed into rocks and other hard objects thus chipping the blades and the sudden torque clash on the drive shaft gives it a jolt. Then the unbalanced blade puts further strain in the shaft. The machine may sit around without an oil change/transmission oil....for months at a time. Then the deck is coated with grass and moisture starts eating away at the metal. At the rattling around loosens belts, linkages, etc, throttle cables never get a nice lubricatio.........poor little machines. Then again the 2 stroke engine is not designed for long, long life.
